Top 10 Health Benefits of Scuba Diving

Scuba diving is a blast – but is it good for you? It may surprise many divers, but scuba diving has been scientifically proven to be  a healthy activity. First and foremost, diving helps to build flexibility & strength. Just like swimming laps in a pool, swimming in the ocean helps to strengthen the auxiliary muscles that most people don’t use in their everyday lives, but help to support other muscles that improve flexibility and strength, and also help to reduce the risk of injury. Swimming is also a great stress reliever, and the healing effects of water have a tangible effect on health as well. At it’s most fundamental, being in the water brings people back to their natural state and reminds them of the rhythm of the outdoors.  Exercise in general is healthy & a great way to reduce stress, but being in the ocean is the absolute best place to swim. Surfers often explain this phenomenon, comparing swimming in the water with meditation and yoga. It’s a great way to relax and  re-center yourself.
